UHF RFID Reader Smarts Vehicle Access Control

Acura technology has released an updated version of its AutoID UHF RFID reader.

The company reported that the equipment is of modern design and easy to install without coaxial cable. Users can use two traditional network cables, one for power over Ethernet (POE) and the other for communication. The card reader performs automatic tag reading and sends data to the PC or controller in real time using the most common protocols on the market, including TCP / IP, Wiegand (26 / 34 bits), RS-232 and abatack.

Easy to configure

According to the company, the configuration can be done directly from the browser through an HTML page without the need for an application programming interface or a software developer kit. In addition to being easy to install, AutoID is also IP67 certified, which means that as long as its RJ-45 plug is properly connected, it can provide waterproof and dust protection. Acura explained that this ensures the integrity of the reader when outdoors, such as at the entrance of the gate or parking lot.

According to the company, the reader has been approved by Anatel. It uses the main protocol to promote its use in any application, from Poe using IEEE802.3af standard to EPC Gen 2 protocol for reading passive tags from a distance of 6 meters (19.7 feet). Acura reports that AutoID readers are designed for multiple uses in a variety of environments.

Address safety and performance issues

Acura reports that with its performance features and compact size, the reader size is 21.5 cm × 21.5 cm × 8.3 cm (8.5 in × 8.5 inches × 3.3 inches), and the simplicity of installation, the device is designed to reduce the risk of errors or unnecessary bottlenecks during deployment. The company said it is seeking to develop a device that can solve security and performance problems as a vehicle access control solution in an intuitive way.
